The Meluth'qelos-pattern fireblade, more commonly known as the energy sword, is a Covenant melee weapon manufactured by Merchants of Qikost.[1]

The Meluth'qelos-pattern fireblade is one of the many energy sword variants manufactured by the Covenant and inherited by the Banished.[1]
Usage[edit]
The Meluth'qelos-pattern was used by Sangheili during the Human-Covenant War. Several Sangheili Sacristan warriors wielded these energy swords during Operation: METEORITE in 2551, and they were also used by some Stealth Sangheili and Sangheili Zealots during the Battle of Installation 04 in 2552.[5]
The Meluth'qelos-pattern fireblade is also a weapon carried by high-ranking Sangheili in the Banished following the Human-Covenant War; during the Battle for Zeta Halo in 2560, it saw extensive use among Ultras, Warlords, Sangheili Special Operations Officers, and Honor Guards.[6] It is one of the more common designs adopted by the Banished.[1]
Variants[edit]
- Bloodblade: As with many other patterns of energy swords, the Meluth'qelos-pattern energy sword can be customized as a bloodblade, with red-colored plasma.[8] Jega 'Rdomnai carried one as his personal energy sword.[9]
- Duelist Energy Sword: A cobalt-colored Meluth'qelos-pattern energy sword with a white hilt and a lightweight frame, granting the user increased movement speed.[10] It was used by Okro 'Vagaduun during the Battle for Zeta Halo.[6]
- Infected Energy Sword: A Meluth'qelos-pattern energy sword corrupted by Iratus.[11]
