Clavell (AI serial number: CVL 6847-1) is a sixth-generational nonvolitional (or, "dumb") artificial intelligence in service to the Unified Earth Government. Throughout the middling years of the postwar era, roughly between 2554 and 2557, he served as the shipboard AI for a Huygens-class survey ship Anjin, tasked with surveying numerous potential colony worlds for the UEG Cartographic Corps. Throughout Anjin's journey he recorded numerous logs from one of the vessel's researchers.[1]
