Assault on the Control Room is the fifth campaign level in Halo: Campaign Evolved. It is a remake of a level of the same name originally in Halo: Combat Evolved.

Differences from the original game

- The Fireteam Zulu squad leader no longer uses the voice lines of Sergeant Johnson, instead using that of Bisenti.
- There is now a proper metallic bridge above the Control Room Ziggurat, as opposed to the previously seen stone bridge.
- Two separate fireteams are established. Fireteam Zulu is now the fireteam that Master Chief assists while first entering the canyon, but Fireteam Yankee is newly established as the fireteam that is found by the Scorpion as named by Cortana. Both teams link up at this point and proceed together throughout the mission.
- The pit at the bottom of the Ziggurat has been removed. However, the marine bodies, weapons and ammunition are still present at the base.
- When plugged into Halo’s core, Cortana takes an even larger and gold-colored form than previously seen. This and a projection of the galaxy, which she interacts with, replace the hologram of Threshold as seen when the Master Chief enters the Control Room.
