Line Installation 444-447 was one of the many installations that made up the Forerunners' Jat-Krula sphere, often translated as the "Maginot Line". Located on the former ecumene colony of Shaps III in the Shaps system, the line installation had a support facility—Covert Support Base 4276—on the nearby planet of Gao in the Cordoba system.[1]

On April 14, 2553, Shaps III was partially glassed by Sav Fel to demonstrate the destructive power of Ket-pattern battlecruiser Pious Inquisitor's energy projector to Staffan Sentzke. Fel glassed several Forerunner buildings on the planet,[2] leading to Line Installation 444-447 sending out an automated distress signal to Covert Support Base 4276 on Gao, causing archeon-class ancilla Intrepid Eye to awaken from stasis. The ancilla's awakening led to a series of conflicts on the planet.[1]
