"The Prophet of Truth employed an elite team armed with powerful master-crafted weapons to hunt down his political enemies during the Great Schism. Advanced Halo 2 Beam Rifle that creates an unstable gravimetric vortex at point of impact."
— In-game description[2][3]

The Type-50 Delta (shortened T-50δ) is a variant of the Sulok-pattern beam rifle utilised by the Covenant.[2][3]

Overview[edit]

Design details[edit]

The T-50δ is identical to one of the two major chassis variations of the Sulok-pattern rifle, though forsakes the original's blue nanolaminate coating for a muted blue/yellow/grey paintjob similar to several other Covenant weapon variants.[4] Mechanically, the weapon fires a specialised beam that creates an unstable gravimetric vortex at the point of impact, similar to the Void's Tear variant of plasma pistol.[2][3]

Usage[edit]

During the Great Schism in October 2552, the personal assassins of the Prophet of Truth were equipped with T-50δs and dispatched to hunt down the hierarch's political enemies.[2][3]

In late 2558, Spartan-IVs serving aboard the UNSC Infinity trained with the Delta beam rifle in War Games simulations.[4]

In-game information[edit]

Halo 5: Guardians[edit]

The T-50δ beam rifle - known in-game as the Halo 2 Beam Rifle Delta - was first introduced into Halo 5: Guardians in the Warzone Firefight update. According to 343 Industries Senior Systems Designer Daniel Wiksten, the weapon was a developer favourite during playtesting, due to its high damage and physics impulses. If a player is hit with the vortex, they immediately die - though the weapon has a slow rate-of-fire. Once the vortex is created, it will pull nearby objects towards it.[2]

In-game, the Beam Rifle Delta is a Legendary 7 energy Power Weapon REQ worth REQ Points 200 when sold.
