Overview

Design details

The Vestige Carbine has an elongated barrel, much thicker than other carbine patterns, and appears almost claw-like.[5] Instead of the cylindrical magazine used by the Vostu- and Mosa-pattern carbines, it uses an angular magazine inserted just behind the scope; this magazine lacks a holographic display to indicate the number of rounds left.

Usage

The Vestige Carbine was first introduced early in the empire's history in the Third Age of Reclamation, most notably used by warriors onboard Mjern-pattern agricultural support ships. Four Vestige Carbines were recovered from a sealed San'Shyuum vault on Qikost by Sangheili artisan-armorers Oebrin 'Chava and Silset 'Chava in January 2560. The duo intended to preserve one original model and modify two other models, leaving the fourth as a gift for their escort, Spartan Abalan.[5] With the rediscovery of the Vestige Carbine, they would be pressed into service by the Swords of Sanghelios in the Post-Covenant War conflicts.[2]

In-game information

Halo Infinite

The Vestige Carbine was added Halo Infinite in the Fall Update during Operation: Shadows. It has a 20-round magazine size and a maximum ammo capacity of 100 rounds. It kills in 7-10 shots (6 shots to break the shields and 4 unshielded bodyshots or 1 headshot).[2][6]

Production notes

Main article: Cut Halo: Combat Evolved weapons § Particle beam rifle

The Vestige Carbine's design is based on multiple cut iterations of the particle beam rifle originally developed for Halo: Combat Evolved.[7] The Vestige Carbine reuses the animations for the Sicatt Workshop shock rifle.
