ONI Section One

ONI Section One is a subdivision of the Office of Naval Intelligence[1][2] and the one most utilized by the UNSC.[3]
Mission[edit]
Section One is responsible for the collection and analysis of naval intelligence,[2] which is acquired through military espionage.[1] Though they do release some information including evacuation notices for colony worlds and Covenant force deployments.[3]
Structure[edit]
Section One maintains the Fleet Intelligence Center which is used to issue threat warnings on behalf of the UNSC and UEG, UEG slipspace travel interdiction orders, and planetary evacuation notices. Due to the Fleet Intelligence Center, Section One is the only ONI section to have a notable public presence.[2]

Origins[edit]
Section One is the oldest and most traditional component of ONI, having functions and offices that predate the creation of the UNSC itself.[2]
Postwar[edit]
As part of the Created uprising, Section One ran ever-expanding threat analysis models. They came to the conclusion that should Cortana be defeated, the galaxy would see a power vacuum.[4]
In 2559, Veronica Dare would acquire information on the Janissaries for Section One in during Operation: SONATA.[4]
