The Rocket Launcher is a weapon featured in Halo 5: Guardians.
Universe and lore[edit]
There are two Rocket Launchers featured in Halo 5: Guardians, with both of them performing very similarly to each other. The first is the M57 Pilum (known in-game as the Rocket Launcher), a two-round, shoulder-fired rocket launcher with a 2× magnification scope that is used by the United Nations Space Command as the successor to the M41 SPNKr. The second Rocket Launcher featured in the game is the M41 SPNKr (known in-game as the SPNKr Rocket Launcher), which is also a two-round, shoulder-fired rocket launcher, with a magnified optic, used by the UNSC.

Campaign[edit]

The M57 Pilum appears in the campaign of Halo 5: Guardians, with its first appearance being in Blue Team. In that mission, the Pilum can be found in the various sheds in the facility where the player must destroy the cooling pipes, and again in the Prowler's hangar. After that, the Pilum appears again in Glassed, Unconfirmed, Evacuation, Reunion, Genesis, and Guardians.
The Pilum's rockets can deal unrevivable damage to a Spartan, but only if it scores a direct hit. Splash damage does not deal unrevivable damage.
Multiplayer and Warzone[edit]
This section is a stub. You can help Halopedia by expanding it.
In the multiplayer component of Halo 5: Guardians, the Pilum and SPNKr appear as usable power weapons. In Warzone, the Pilum is an Uncommon REQ that requires
energy to be used, while the SPNKr requires the same REQ energy level but is a Rare REQ instead. Selling their REQ cards grants
75 (Pilum) or
100 (SPNKr).
Variants[edit]
Ad Victoriam[edit]
- Main article: Ad Victoriam
- "There's nowhere to hide. Improved Rocket Launcher that fires two additional missiles in a "V" pattern with each shot. All three missiles can be laser-guided when using Smart-Link and feature an airburst proximity fuse.[1]"
The Ad Victoriam is a Rare REQ variant of the Rocket Launcher which has a Laser Targeter equipped and fires three missiles in a "V" pattern. These missiles can be laser-guided with Smart-Link and have an airburst proximity fuse, detonating when close enough to a target. Consuming an Ad Victoriam REQ card in Warzone requires at least
energy in order to use the weapon, while selling an Ad Victoriam REQ card grants
100.[1]
High Five[edit]
- Main article: High Five
- "BOOM! Advanced Rocket Launcher loaded with experimental submunition ammo. Each shot unleashes five Hydra mini-missiles that will lock-on to ground and air targets.[2]"
The High Five is an Ultra Rare REQ variant of the Rocket Launcher which fires a single rocket that then splits into five mini-missiles identical to those fired by the Hydra Launcher. These missiles can lock on to both ground and air targets. To use the weapon in Warzone, the player has to consume a High Five REQ card while having at least
energy. Selling a High Five REQ card grants
150.[2]
In the campaign, the High Five is also usable in two missions via Legendary-exclusive Easter eggs. The first is in Reunion, where activating the Flaming plants on Reunion Easter egg and performing it correctly awards both the Whiplash and High Five with bottomless clip enabled. The second is in The Breaking, where the UNSC weapons on The Breaking Easter egg spawns the High Five if executed correctly. Unlike the regular Rocket Launcher, the High Five's missiles never deal unrevivable damage to a Spartan even with a direct hit.
SPNKr EM[edit]
- Main article: SPNKr EM
- "Four rockets, two tubes, one launcher. Improved SPNKr Rocket Launcher with four-round magazine. SPNKr EM rockets can home on both air and ground targets.[3]"
The SPNKr EM is a Rare REQ variant of the SPNKr Rocket Launcher. It features a four-round magazine and fires missiles capable of locking on to both air and ground targets. It can be used in Warzone by consuming a SPNKr EM REQ card while having at least
energy. The card can also be sold for
100.[3]
SPNKr EX[edit]
- Main article: SPNKr EX
- "No place to run. No place to hide. Advanced SPNKr Rocket Launcher that laser-guided cluster munitions. SPNKr EX Rockets detonate in proximity to enemies, releasing explosive submunitions.[4]"
The SPNKr EX is an Ultra Rare REQ variant of the SPNKr Rocket Launcher that fires laser-guided rockets with a proximity airburst fuse. Upon detonation, the rockets unleash explosive submunitions similar in effect to the Splinter Grenade, albeit without the disintegration effect. The SPNKr EX's REQ card can be consumed in Warzone at a cost of
energy to use the weapon, or it can be sold for
150.[4]
SPNKr Prime[edit]
- Main article: SPNKr Prime
- "This pain train has no brakes. Mythic SPNKr Rocket Launcher that fires fast, powerful rockets. Equipping the SPNKr Prime also boosts movement speed, shield strength, and jump height.[5]"
The SPNKr Prime is a Legendary/Mythic REQ variant of the SPNKr Rocket Launcher. Its rockets are significantly faster and more powerful. Moreover, carrying the weapon provides boosts to the user's movement speed, energy shield strength, and jump height, giving them greater durability and maneuverability. The SPNKr Prime's REQ card can be used in Warzone at a cost of
energy or sold for
200.[5]
