The Incineration Cannon is a Promethean heavy weapon featured in Halo 5: Guardians.
Universe and lore[edit]
- Main article: Z-390 incineration cannon
The incineration cannon featured in Halo 5: Guardians is the Z-390 incineration cannon, a design that fires five antimatter-infused streams of concentrated explosive particles.
Gameplay[edit]
The Incineration Cannon has been reworked from its previous iteration in Halo 4. Pulling the trigger without holding it down unleashes a burst of two projectiles with an arcing trajectory, while holding down the trigger allows the user to unleash a powerful explosive projectile that deals significant damage to targets and disintegrates them if they are killed. It also now operates on a battery, replacing the single-shot reloading mechanism of the Halo 4 rendition; uncharged shots consume 5% of the battery with each projectile, keeping the weapon charged consumes 1% per second, and charged shots consume 25%. Moreover, firing the weapon too quickly will cause it to overheat, temporarily rendering it inoperable as it has to cool down. Charged shots will instantly max out the heat gauge.

Campaign[edit]
This section is a stub. You can help Halopedia by expanding it.
The Incineration Cannon appears in several campaign missions in Halo 5: Guardians where Prometheans are encountered, starting from Glassed. It is always wielded by Knight Commanders, although some Knight Battlewagons wield it in Reunion as well. The weapon also appears inside the Forerunner facility in Enemy Lines, although no enemies use it there.
The Incineration Cannon's charged shots can instantly kill a Spartan and deal unrevivable damage, leaving them out of action until their next respawn. For this reason, the player should never fire the weapon up close, especially if using the charged shots.
Multiplayer and Warzone[edit]

In Warzone, the Incineration Cannon is a Rare REQ power weapon that can be granted to the player at a cost of
energy, provided the player has at least one Incineration Cannon REQ card. Selling it provides
100.
Variants[edit]
River of Light[edit]
- Main article: River of Light
- "The war against the Flood led to many technical advances. All proved fruitless. Improved Incineration Cannon that will unleash a long burst of energy blasts if allowed to charge up by holding the firing trigger.[1]"
The River of Light is an Ultra Rare REQ variant of the Incineration Cannon. It features a larger battery capacity, a wider projectile arcing trajectory, no vertical recoil, and faster firing and charging speeds. The most notable trait of the River of Light is that its charged shot does not unleash a single powerful explosive projectile, but instead seven arced explosive projectiles which are identical to the uncharged projectiles, thereby removing the disintegration capability that the other Incineration Cannon variants have. This makes the River of Light more efficient in terms of damage versus armored targets. The weapon can be used in Warzone by consuming a River of Light REQ card at
energy, while selling a River of Light REQ card returns
150 to the player.[1&
