The Suppressor is a Forerunner automatic energy weapon that appears in Halo 5: Guardians.
Universe and lore[edit]
- Main article: Z-130 Suppressor
The Z-130 Suppressor is the primary service arm of the Prometheans, specifically utilized by Crawlers and Knights. Within the UNSC it is known by the designation Z-130 Directed Energy Automatic Weapon.
Gameplay[edit]
The Suppressor, like with the other Forerunner weapons in Halo 5: Guardians, has been reworked from its previous iteration in Halo 4. Upon pulling the trigger, the Suppressor begins firing hardlight projectiles at a low rate, which quickly increases, with the weapon's reticle expanding the longer it fires. In a contrast to Halo 4's Suppressor, which acted more akin to the SMG, the Suppressor of Halo 5 now features tracking projectiles, much like the Boltshot or the Needler; these rounds will prioritize weak points within Promethean targets, with Covenant and UNSC enemies having their center mass prioritized. As a result of its tracking nature, rounds fired from the Suppressor aren't fully subject to the penalties of Bloom, as rounds will track a target efficiently no matter how far the reticle expands. The magazine of the Suppressor now holds a 42 round magazine instead of 48, as well.

Campaign[edit]

In the campaign of Halo 5: Guardians, the Suppressor is found in every mission where Prometheans are fought. It is used by Soldiers and Alpha Crawlers. Weapon racks containing the Suppressor can be found strewn about in Promethean-occupied structures. If the Thunderstorm skull is active, all regular Crawlers are converted into Alpha Crawlers, making the Suppressor even more common.
Multiplayer and Warzone[edit]

The Suppressor is featured in multiplayer, being a prevalent item in Warzone and its variants. Unlike Halo 4's variant, the Suppressor of Halo 5 is no longer a loadout option, and is instead relegated to the power weapon menu within the game's requisition system. The Suppressor and its variants can be unlocked through REQ packs like any other weapon, with its Common rarity making it prevalent in Bronze and Silver REQ packs, allowing the player to have a healthy supply. Suppressor cards require
energy to use in-game and can be sold for ![]()
