Mountain Squad was a joint formation of the SPARTAN-IV program and UNSC Marine Corps. It was attached to the UNSC Infinity when the ship returned to Requiem in February 2558 during the Requiem Campaign.

In addition, The Covenant in the area had set up jammers to prevent them from contacting the Infinity. SPARTAN-IV Fireteam Crimson was dispatched into Two Giants to rescue and assist Mountain Squad. Together, the two units continued the mission. However, all members of Mountain Squad were killed before completing the objective, prompting Crimson to investigate the structures alone.[1]
