The M41 Extended Light Anti-Aircraft Gun,[4] abbreviated M41 ELAAG[4] or M41 ELAAGat[5] is a weapon operated by the United Nations Space Command, particularly on the OF92 Booster Frame.[6]
Overview[edit]
Design details[edit]
- Main article: M41 Vulcan
The M41 ELAAG is a design alteration of the venerable M41 Vulcan Light Anti-Aircraft Cannon commonly in service on M12 Warthog Light Reconnaissance Vehicles. The ELAAG variant is designed to operate in a space warfare environment, firing specialised gas-jacketed, armor-piercing depleted uranium 12.7x99mm rounds[2] with pressurised atmospheric contents to ensure an explosive percussion in a vaccuum or other challenging environments.[5]
The weapon is mounted in the rear of the Booster Frame, where it can be operated by another serviceman.[1]
