Battle Group Omega was a formation of four Paris-class heavy frigates of the UNSC Navy commanded by Commander Ivan Jiron before being briefly reassigned to Captain Abigail Cole during the Created uprising in 2559. The battle group comprised four ships, with the frigate UNSC Get My Drift serving as the flagship while Jiron was in command, and the UNSC Victory of Samothrace leading the group while Cole was in charge.[citation needed]
History[edit]
In December 2559, as part of the UNSC Navy's preparation to defend Earth against a massive Banished onslaught, Battle Group Omega was ordered to assist in Earth's defense, but also to leave and conduct an operation on Boundary as soon as instructions to do so were received from ONI. During the battle, the frigate Blank Check was destroyed when it took a direct hit from a plasma lance launched by a Banished Holk After the concurrent defeat of Cortana on Installation 07 ended the battle by shutting down the Guardian Custodes that were meant to pacify the Sol system, the surviving ships of the group remained with Victory and accompanied her back to Boundary with orders to aid Cole in her search for the Lithos. The remaining ships of Omega would all be lost in the battle over Boundary, with Get My Drift and Hazard Pay sacrificing themselves in a final assault on the Severan's Banished flagship Heart of Malice to buy Victory the time it needed to destroy the Lithos, denying the asset to the Banished and the Order of Restoration.[1]
