Biography[edit]

Early life and military career[edit]

Abigail Cole was born as the youngest daughter of Vice Admiral Preston Cole, an officer who would go on to be a legendary war hero in the UNSC. It is unknown which of Preston's various wives was Abigail's mother. Abigail served in the UNSC Navy in the Human-Covenant War, inheriting her father's acumen for naval doctrine and winning a handful of battles due to her boldness.[1]

Captain of Ozymandias[edit]

Main article: Battle of Mars (2557)

By August 2557, Cole had risen to the rank of Captain, and held command of an Epoch-class heavy carrier, UNSC Ozymandias. On August 2, Ozymandias was involved in a raid on Mars conducted by the Banished, who were seeking to attack the Misriah Armory facility at Eos Chasma in the wake of the Ur-Didact's devastating attack on the Sol system the month prior. During the battle, Cole captained Ozymandias against a Banished fleet of just under a dozen other ships comprised of a single dreadnought and a number of karves. Ozymandias traded fire with the Banished for three hours in orbit and managed to bring down the dreadnought and three karves, though this ultimately came at the expense of Ozymandias itself. AS Ozymandias plummeted towards Mars' surface, Cole resigned herself to the fate of going down with the ship though was ultimately saved by a Spartan and thrown into a lifeboat. Despite this, the event continued to play out as a nightmare for Cole over the next few years.[2]

Created uprising[edit]

By late 2559, Cole was given command of a Valiant-class super-heavy cruiser, UNSC Victory of Samothrace.

Personality and traits[edit]

Abigail, like her father, is considered one of the best captains at the UNSC's disposal, as of 2559. She embodies her father's naval acumen and strategic wisdom, and is brash, willful, and cavalier; all assets which aid her career greatly.[1]

Notes[edit]

  1. ^ In Halo: Empty Throne, Abigail Cole states Terrence Hood was kind of mentor to her despite Hood being only "ten years her senior". Hood was born in 2490, making 2500 the closest year to Abigail's birth year.
