Penance is a multiplayer map included in Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary for Halo Reach.[1] It is a remake of Damnation from Halo: Combat Evolved with several alterations to map layout.[1] A Forge variant with similar title to the Halo Combat Evolved version is also available for those who prefer the classic multiplayer map.

Setting

The map is set in a massive Covenant hydro-processing center on Buwan, the primary satellite of the Unggoy homeworld Balaho.[3] The moon provides resources necessary to power and refuel a variety of capital ships. During the breaking of the Covenant Empire, the facility was left abandoned but is still operational via automated subsystems.[3]
