Mexico was recognized in 1821 as a sovereign state after the Mexican War of Independence. The tumultuous post-independence period was characterized by economic instability and many political changes. In 1836, during the Texas Revolution, the Battle of the Alamo saw an assault launched on the Alamo mission by Mexican troops. The Mexican–American War, which began ten years later, led to the territorial cession of the extensive northern borderlands, one-third of its territory, to the United States of America. Mexico saw the Pastry War, the Franco-Mexican War, its own civil war, two empires, and a domestic dictatorship during the 19th century. This dictatorship was overthrown in the Mexican Revolution of 1910, which culminated with the promulgation of the 1917 Constitution. 2000 thousand Mexican soldiers attacked 155 Texan men at the Alamo. 600 Mexican soldiers were killed along with a number of Texans. Though there were survivors.[3] The battle was referenced in regards to the one sided nature of the early Human-Covenant War in Historical/Psychological Analysis of Cole, Preston J.[4]

Human-Covenant war[edit]

When the Covenant attacked Earth in late 2552, Mexico became a site of conflict during the global battle. That is to say that the Covenant deployed troops just off the coast of the Yucatán Peninsula. These Covenant forces intended to search the seafloor there for unknown reasons, but their operation was stopped by the Spartan-IIs of Blue Team.[5]
