Template:New Content Template:Weapon Infobox The BR85 Heavy Barrel Service Rifle (BR85HB SR)[1][2] is a semi-automatic service rifle employed by UNSC forces in the post-Human-Covenant War era.
Overview
Design
The BR85HB Service Rifle is a gas-operated, magazine-fed semi-automatic rifle.[1] It is optimized for three-round bursts, and proves to be effective against the energy shielding of many types of armor.
Gameplay
The BR85HB SR has a 2x scope. The weapon features hitscan, and lacks bloom. When fired, the barrel rises vertically, but in a suppressible way. It is useful for longer-range engagements.[1]
Trivia
- The earliest known in-game model of the BR85 was erroneously labeled "BR55HB SR".[3] This has been fixed in the current build of the game.[4]
- with the Ammo support package the player is capable of carrying 216 rounds(6 clips) instead of the usual 108.
- Players who pre-order Halo 4 from certain locations will receive a special Arctic weapon skin for the BR85.[5]
