Ancestors[1]

This cruiser[2] was a type of starship constructed by the Ancestors - the ancient starfaring forebears of modern humanity.[1]

Overview

Design details

Offensively, the cruiser possessed what the Forerunners referred to as "Fibril cutters".[1]

Operational history

Ancient history

The ships were in service by humans as early as the Human-Forerunner wars.[3] At least one was part of a fleet commanded by Lord of Admirals Forthencho.[4]

Numerous vessels of the class were taken over by the Flood and continued to be used by the Flood as late as the Forerunner-Flood war.[5]

Legacy

The Office of Naval Intelligence discovered one such vessel at Site Yankee-002-G3. A detailed report named "ONI XENO-MATERIALS EXPLOITATION REPORT 15Y1198" was filed. Further research was recommended to Project ARC DREAM and teams on AZURE MOON were assigned to study its weaponry.[1] This may be the same "shattered starship" purported to have been the recovery site for a number of Ancestor artifacts responsible for the creation of the HELLCAT-class Mjolnir.[6]
