  • During a routine search conducted on Beta Gabriel's Cortez Ocean, the crashed Covenant carrier Splendid Intention's remains suddenly shift from its resting place in the Aleutian Rim and violently slide down a nearby trench, sending debris and water in Fathom Station's northern terminal, tearing the complex apart, and killing forty-one researchers. Splendid Intention and the twenty-three explorers trapped inside the carrier are lost, and operations at Fathom Station are discontinued.[6]
  • January 24: Border security at Checkpoint Rhoen on Sedra is forced to enact eight seizures on incoming ships. One of these raids yields highly refined fissile material. Laban Neir requests for an increase in equipment and personnel.[7]
  • December: Rion Forge participates in a four-way bidding war for a small piece of a Forerunner navigational databoard at a small bazaar on Komoya. After winning the bidding war, she sells it for a large profit, despite the damage the device had sustained.[16]
