The Battle of Verge was an engagement that took place on the human colony world of Verge between the United Nations Space Command and the Covenant Empire[1] on September 2552.[note 1]
After the Covenant invasion of the Epsilon Eridani System and the Battle of Reach, SPARTAN Team Black was sent to the ruined city of Cuidad de Arias on Verge, a UNSC colony invaded by the Covenant some months back, to destroy a Covenant Beacon, in order to cut off their supply of helium-3 to the ships blockading Tribute. They succeeded in their mission, despite accidentally setting free a penal colony of Yanme'e Unmutuals in the process.[1]

- ^ While Blunt Instruments never gives an accurate date for the events, it can be determined by the fact that the Battle of Tribute is taking place concurrently. Epsilon Eridani System, where Tribute is situated, was not invaded by the Covenant until August 30th. After the Covenant fleet would move on to glass other planets in the system following the Battle of Reach, Team Black would still need some time to get to another star system.
