Blood of Suban is a custom-crafted Mosa-pattern carbine, created by the Sangheili brothers Silset and Oebrin 'Chava.[1][2]
Overview[edit]
When the Great Schism befell the Covenant, lines were drawn and alliances fractured. Having always been keen to see the Sangheili break free of their dependence on the treacherous San'Shyuum, Silset and Oebrin found themselves united under the Arbiter Thel 'Vadam's leadership. Eager to use their mastery of weaponsmithing to new and more honorable ends, the brothers collaborated on a modified Carbine that would take on both the role and the soul of the brothers' homeworld and adapt key attributes of Silset's most beloved armament, the Gadulo-pattern needle rifle. The result is a master-crafted arbalest that fires carefully carved Subanese crystal shards capable of penetrating armor and sympathetically detonating in lethal 'supercombine' explosions. Nicknamed the "Blood of Suban" by Swords of Sanghelios marksmen favored with its use, the rifle's intricate firing mechanism and cunningly sharpened crystal projectiles are being reviewed for use in other weapons.[1]
Gameplay[edit]
The Blood of Suban is classified as a Rare REQ and can be summoned in Warzone at Level 4 energy while giving 100 REQ points if sold. It takes 5 rounds to trigger a supercombine explosion on any enemy or vehicle. The five-shot kill of the Blood of Suban makes it effective for quickly killing a player or small group of enemy players. In addition, its crystal projectiles can pierce through heavy armor, making it useful for damaging vehicles or heavily armored enemies.
The Razor's Edge, Talon of the Lost, White Scar, and Sword Needler Warthog all have a similar anti-armor needle effect.[2]
Production note[edit]
The Blood of Suban is a spiritual successor to a previous weapon exclusive to Halo: Reach, the Type-31 needle rifle.
