The Knight Praeliator also known as the Knight Eclipse is a specialized Promethean Knight uesed in Warzone simulations.[1]
History[edit]
The Knights were originally created by the Ur-Didact towards the end of the Forerunner-Flood war. The first Knights were composed from his loyal Promethean Warrior-Servants. After the Didact's defeat in mid-2557, the Prometheans under Jul 'Mdama's command began to exhibit design differentiations from those found on Requiem, alongside similar functionality upgrades to their weaponry.[2][3] These changes were first reported by the UNSC during Jul 'Mdama's attack on Oban. The UNSC encountered several more knight patterns and incorporated them into War Games simulations for Spartans to against these.[4] One such Knight commander was Endurance-of-Will in her warzone form as prometheans such as; Animus-To-Remain, Habit-To-Sever and TDS-009. However the Praeliator is a member of collective of knights known as the Harbingers.[5]
Gameplay[edit]
The Knight Praeliator like others spawn in certain Warzone simulations. It carries a Heartseeker and a Didact's Signet into combat, and sometimes will switch between them depending on the situation. other Knights are connected as well as the Knight Bellator, Knight Ortus and the Knight Sectator. The Praeliator belongs to a special group of four Promethean Knights known as the Harbingers, which are exclusive bosses in Halo 5's Warzone Firefight mode. The Harbingers represent an evolution or advancement of the Promethean Knight model. The Harbingers are equipped with more advanced and coordinated Artificial intelligences compared to standard Knights. This suggests they have adapted to combat Spartans and other organic enemies in a post-Forerunner-Flood galaxy. The Prometheans show enhanced aggression and combat competitiveness compared to their initial appearance in Halo 4. This could be attributed to a dormant "protocol overwrite" left by the Ur-Didact, which the Knights are still subject to. The in-game kill message for the Praeliator, Knight Eclipse is a cosmetic change without deep lore significance. It serves to identify this specific, more powerful variant. The Praeliator, like other Prometheans in Halo 5, represents the faction's adaptability and continued threat under Cortana's command, even after their Creator was neutralized. [6]
Trivia[edit]
- If a Player is killed by the Praeliator it will read as a Kight eclipse
- The distinct voices of the Promethean Knights and other Forerunner constructs were created by using the audio recordings of Tasmanian devils
