The Harbingers are a group of Promethean Knights whose specific members where formed when Jul 'Mdama and Covenant created several new Knight designs and when the Created formed they integrated to it.^[1]

History

During 2558 Jul 'Mdama and his Covenant created several new Promethean Knight designs different from those on Requiem. The Harbingers where one of those results encountered likely in 2558 by the UNSC as part of the Created.^[2] They where devoted to the Ur-Didact and his Promethean forces. likely after 2558 after the prometheans rebelled against Jul 'Mdama's Covenant and forming the Created they possibly joined and used as heavy combat units under the command of the Warden Eternal.^[1] However not much is known on there history.^{[citation needed]} While the four "Harbingers" themselves don't have a backstory, the general lore for Promethean Knights provides their context. Promethean Knights are mechanical constructs created from the digitized consciousnesses of organic beings, a process known as "composition".^[3] The first Knights were created by the Forerunner commander, the Ur-Didact, using the essence of his most loyal Promethean Warrior-Servants. these Knights are under the control of the "Created," led by the now-rampant artificial intelligence, Cortana as specialized units.^[2]

Gameplay

Each Promethean Knight is a boss in Warzone and each of them have there own tactics for defeating them.^{[citation needed]}

Main article: Knight Bellator

The Bellator is a heavy Knight that uses the weapon Heartseeker and Didact's Signet Bellators, have glowing orange weak spots on either side of their shoulders. Shooting these spots removes armor and exposes their head and back, which become vulnerable to attacks. Once the armor is removed, target the exposed head or the glowing core in the back for a critical hit. A single precision shot can instantly kill a Knight once its head is exposed.

The Praeliator is similar to the Bellator in tactics and appearance as some of them are. the Promethean Knight uses the weapons Heartseeker and Didact's Signet and having the same weak spots.

Unlike the others the Sectator is similar in appearance to a Knight Battlewagon with the exception of the red coloring. And unlike previous members Sectator uses the weapons Heartseeker as well as a Z-250 lightrifle in combat and will switch between them ocasionally

Ortus is a named Promethean Knight usually protected by four Soldier Guards and uses the weapons Z-250 lightrifle and a Z-180 Scattershot and ocasionally spawning as a mythic version with three other bosses being the Knight Praeliator, Sectator and Bellator possibly implying that he is the leader of the Harbingers.^{[citation needed]}
