Plot synopsis[edit]

Bella Corsa takes place in 2551, a year prior to the events of the Fall of Reach, and follows Bella Disztl, a renowned racing driver first introduced in Halo: Shadows of Reach. The story opens with Disztl surveying the drivers preparing to race the 24 Hours of Quezon, a long-endurance challenge which pits teams of drivers against one another in order to race at high-speeds for a full day across the surface of Reach. As a famous driver, moments such as this are the only times Disztl can partake in the sport as a fan. She is interrupted in her thoughts and marvel by a reporter from Waypoint Sports, who begins to ask for Bella's thoughts on the competition and the vehicles involved, though Bella is eventually whisked away by her manager Marco Bellogio.

Arriving at the race start, Bella meets with her teammates and co-drivers Alan Winslow and Jakob Duval. The group share some jokes and idle chatter as they wait for the race to start. Ten minutes later, the race opens with a choir from Tribute singing an anthem to celebrate the Epsilon Eridani system and the race itself, and a flight of UNSC Shortsword bombers and a Pelican dropship to mark the race's beginning. Bella and her teammates climb into their vehicle, a customised Hog clad in Avalanche Slate livery, wait for countdown, and the race begins.
