Connectivity - Part 2 is a poem in the Waypoint Chronicle series written by Jeff Easterling and Alex Wakeford. It is exclusively included in the print compilation Halo: Waypoint Chronicles - Volume One, released on May 26, 2026. The poem follows on from Connectivity, a poem originally written by Jonathan Goff for Halo: Evolutions[1], and describes Cortana's sacrifice and the new connection between John-117 and Joyeuse.

The Poem[edit]

Theirs is a connection,

innocent and new

An echo of what was; a dream of what could be
a fledgling friendship; a template of trust

It is bound in grief; fortified by responsibility

born of desperation
foretold in fear

Theirs is a union

of machine and man
of rediscovered, reclaimed identity

Built to bring death,

to shatter empires like glass; through might and mind

Against an enemy that was once a friend,

She drowned in infinite knowledge
In Her wake; heated wrath
that burned hot and consumed

But now, She is gone; a sacrifice, splintering to shelter

All that remains;
a joyous echo, the vibrancy of youth

Somewhere, out among uncharted constellations of

uncertainty and ruin

Beyond the event horizon of despair

They journey forth, into the deepest shadows of this dire

wheel;

and silently they ask

Please deliver me from the dark
and show me hope again.
