The Terceira campaign was a series of military campaigns to recover UEG control of the human colony of Terceira.[Note 1]

Background[edit]

With the end of the Human-Covenant War and a lack of a strong UNSC presence on the planet, a power vacuum formed. This included corporate forces and grass roots organizations vying for autonomy or outright control of the world. The presence of the United Rebel Front (URF) there had exacerbated these issues[2] leading to them wrestling control of the planet away from the UEG in 2552.[3]

Battle[edit]

OCEANIC-clad Spartans were also repeatedly deployed during the campaign.[1] In a highly classified operation, several CIO-armored Spartans were deployed to Terceira, where they captured and transmitted information crucial to the recovery of the colony from Insurrectionist forces.[5]

Aftermath[edit]

The planet would be brought back under UEG control years later,[3] though relatively shortly after the URF took control.[4] The scattered remains of the URF would gather on the planet's hydroelectric platforms; OCEANIC-clad Spartans were deployed to take them back.[6] Trying to fully root out the URF on the planet had proven to be an effort in futility.[3]

In 2558, the Created uprising would cause the UEG's presence to fade again resulting in new paramilitary activity on the world including from slavers.[2]

Notes[edit]

  1. ^ While originally there was no name provided in Halo 4 or related media for these events, the MCC port of Halo 4 provided the descriptive name of "Terceira campaign" in the truncated description of the OCEANIC-class armor. Halo: Empty Throne would go on to describe these events as "several campaigns".
