Template:Weapon Infobox The Z-8250 Anti-Ship Exterior Defense Network, alternatively known as Forerunner Artillery[1], is a type of close-in weapon system built by the Forerunners for the defense of their ships and installations. It fires small bursts of guided hard light bolts.[2]

These weapons were present on the Ur-Didact's flagship, Mantle's Approach, and were used against John-117's F-41 Broadsword during the Didact's attack on Earth. A number of these weapons were also used by the Covenant remnant on Requiem, in the locations codenamed The Gate,[3][4][5] Sniper Alley[3] and Lockup.[6] At Control, UNSC forces were able to hack the weapons to temporarily use them against the Covenant.[7] Contrary to the guns previously encountered, the guns at the location Harvester were protected by energy shielding. Most of these weapons on Requiem could be deactivated manually, however Roland had to hack the energy shields of those at Harvester before Fireteam Crimson could destroy them.[8]
