Casualties

The battle of Legopo was an engagement in the Human-Covenant War where the Covenant assaulted the human colony of Legopo.

Battle

In 2551, the Covenant attacked Legopo. The Hungry Buzzards saved the day by holding the line against an entire legion of Jiralhanae shock troops, although only eight of the Marines survived by hijacking a Spirit dropship and escaping to orbit.[1]

Aftermath

The surviving Hungry Buzzards were recruited by Colonel James Ackerson to be the operators of the Mark I (H) exoskeletons. When Operation: METEORITE was proposed, Spartan-II Master Chief Petty Officer John-117 requested the use of the Covenant dropship captured by the Buzzards at Legopo,[1] allowing him and Sergeant Major Avery Johnson to infiltrate the Triumph of Tolerance.[2]
