India Company, contingents of which have also at times been referred to as Fire Team India[3] or Recon Team India,[1] is a unit of the United Nations Space Command Marine Corps.
History[edit]
In early 2531, India Company was assigned to the UNSC Spirit of Fire, a refitted Phoenix-class support vessel attached to the UNSC Navy's Third Fleet. On February 4 of that year the ship arrived at Harvest in the Epsilon Indi system with intent to survey the situation on the planet and to aid the UNSC Prophecy, a Marathon-class heavy cruiser that had been crippled in battle with the Covenant's Fleet of Glorious Interdiction. Fire Team India was among four marine units that were scrambled to board the Prophecy in the midst of an ongoing fight with a few Covenant ships. Just over a month later, Captain James Cutter authorized India Company to reinforce Sunray 1-1, an elite team of Orbital Drop Shock Troopers from Boomerang Company, during Operation: SPEARBREAKER.[2] On May 1, the marines fought the forces of the Banished and Forerunner sentinel constructs on Installation 00 during the operation. With help from Sunray 1-1, they were able to prevent the Mgalekgolo pair known as Colony from launching a Forerunner Despair-class fighter at the Spirit of Fire.[4]
