Design details[edit]

Main article: M12B Warthog

The Corp Warthog is a Liang-Dortmund variant of the M12B Warthog chassis, given upgraded armor over their standard military counterparts and Liang-Dortmund yellow-and-white corporate branding. They are employed in Scout, Light Reconnaissance, Gauss, and Rocket configurations capable of sporting no weaponry, an M343A2 chaingun, M70 Gauss cannon, or M80 missile launcher respectively.[1]

Although the vehicle paint jobs reflect their corporate nature, their weapons still retain their UNSC logos and colouration.

Usage[edit]

De-militarised Warthogs are a common sight on the colonies, though some corporations such as Liang-Dortmund are able to employ weaponised models for defensive purposes against Kig-Yar pirates, Covenant remnants and Insurrectionist raids.[2] On some worlds, alien fauna is a big enough threat that conventionally anti-tank weapons such as the M70 Gauss cannon are employed for defense against them, though these weapons are also frequently used to keep out large and unruly crowds.[3]

Liang-Dortmund also engages in bribery of UEG officials, in which the use of even missile platforms such as the M80 are declared legitimate for corporate use.[4]

Operational history[edit]

By 2558, Corporate Warthogs were employed by the Liang-Dortmund corporation for security and defense of Apogee Station on Meridian. During the Created attack on Meridian in 2558, these vehicles were employed by the workers there and Fireteam Osiris for fighting off invading forces, though they were also used by the Armiger Soldiers involved in the attack.[5][6]

Gameplay[edit]

The Corp Warthog appears in Halo 5: Guardians as a vehicle REQ card available for use in the Warzone and Warzone Firefight gamemodes via the requisition system, and is also useable in Forge and custom games.

In Warzone, the Corp Warthog can be called in as Scout, Chaingun, Gauss and Rocket variants. The REQ cards have the following attributes;

  • Scout
    • Rarity: Common
    • Energy cost: 1 energy
  • Chaingun
    • Rarity: Common
    • Energy cost: 1 energy
  • Rocket
    • Rarity: Ultra Rare
    • Energy cost: 4 energy
  • Gauss:
    • Rarity: Ultra Rare
    • Energy cost: 6 energy

Regarding stats, the Corp Warthog variants have 20% more health than a standard Warthog, lower than all other Warthog variants but higher than the standard Warthog.[7]
