The Tarasque-class heavy fighter[1] is an older Covenant Elite-manned starfighter. It was most likely replaced by the Seraph. It has so far only been mentioned in the description of the Elite Flight Harness armor permutation. Despite the age of these craft, modern Elite flight harnesses are still equipped to interface with them.

Though little about the craft is known beyond its name, it appears to be named after the Tarasque, a French monster.

It had been thought that this may have been the so-called "Covenant Flyer" seen in Halo Wars, but the release of the game confirms that it was a new vehicle named the Vampire.
