Remnant is a multiplayer map in Halo 2: Anniversary, released on May 30, 2015.[1][2][3][4] It is a remake of Relic from Halo 2, with some minor changes. The map is one of the seven Halo 2 multiplayer maps that have been completely re-imagined in Halo 2: Anniversary.[5]
Description
Remnant is a secluded island in the coastal regions of Installation 05, housing an enigmatic Forerunner megalith. This structure later became subject to comprehensive research by Lisbon pioneer groups. Local inscriptions cataloged by the research groups indicate that the megalith was constructed to pay tribute to Warrior-Servants who were killed during the final siege of Forerunner colonies by prehistoric human forces as part of their attempts to contain the Flood's first outbreak, resulting in numerous casualties on both sides.[6]
Production notes
Curiously, the map's in-game description is taken from that of Halo 2's Tombstone.
Trivia
- Finding and destroying the BLAST soda can on this map unlocks the Monumental Thirst! achievement.
