Robins was an enlisted serviceman in the UNSC Marine Corps during the Human-Covenant War. In 2551 he fought in the battle of Promise, during which he was captured by the Covenant and taken prisoner aboard the starship Triumph of Tolerance to be used as test subjects by the Minister of Harmony.[2]

In mid-late July of 2551, he fought alongside Lieutenant Williams and Tiger Company, breaking out of the group's holding cells in an attempt to escape captivity. The group were hunted down by Jiralhanae inside the ship's habitat dome until they were narrowly saved by the intervention of Libra Team, consisting of Spartan John-117 and Sergeant Major Avery Johnson. Robins and the other marines in his fireteam were in awe of the Spartan unlike their commanding officer, leading the Lieutenant to order them to perform a perimeter sweep to stay on-task. The combined group then fought through the habitat dome to find an escape, with Libra Team proceeding to the ship's bridge to finish their mission while the marines headed to the hangar bay to secure a way off the ship.[2] Ultimately the marines elected to stay behind aboard Triumph to buy time for Libra Team's escape with captured navigation data, and to ensure Triumph's energy shielding would remain down to allow for a fire support mission from UNSC Burden of Proof. Robins was killed alongside Kimura in the fighting aboard the ship, as were the rest of his team once the vessel was destroyed.[1]
