The M6C Personal Defense Weapon System,[1] otherwise known as the M6C Magnum Sidearm, is a United Nations Space Command sidearm. It is a variant of Misriah Armory's M6 handgun series.
Overview[edit]
Design Details[edit]
The M6C PDWS is a semi-automatic sidearm utilized by the United Nations Space Command. A departure from other models in the M6 series, it boasts a black polymer finish and an overall comfortable design.[1] It retains the Magnum series' characteristic oversized handguard and ridges on the rear slide, with the safety mechanism located on the slide itself rather than below it on other models. Unlike the more common M6D, M6G, and M6H models, the M6C is generally not equipped with a KFA-2 x2 scope.[3]
Although less powerful and effective than other UNSC sidearms, the M6C sees continued use due to its resilience and reliability coupled with a comfortable and compact design alongside being highly affordable and easy to produce. [1]
Ammunition[edit]
The M6C Magnum fires M225 12.7x40mm Semi Armor-Piercing High Explosive cartridges from a 12-round magazine.[1]
Usage[edit]
The M6C was used by UNSC personnel as early as 2525.[4] Use of the M6C continued through the Human-Covenant War, and it was used by UNSC Navy and Marine Corps personnel aboard the UNSC In Amber Clad and during the early stages of the Battle for Earth and Battle of Installation 05.[5]
In-game information[edit]
- Main article: Magnum
The M6C Magnum was introduced in Halo 2 as a replacement for the M6D magnum originally featured in Halo: Combat Evolved. This was done due to Battle Rifle taking the M6D's role. The M6C instead behaves closer to a more conventional pistol: low damage, high rate-of-fire, and can be dual-wielded. A successor model, the integrally-suppressed M6C/SOCOM was featured in Halo 3: ODST, with the M6C making its return in the Halo 2: Anniversary remasters of Halo 2.
In Halo 2: Anniversary multiplayer, the M6C is slightly more powerful than its original/campaign counterpart, taking only 11 headshots to kill a Spartan compared to the original's 13.
