Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock was the third entry in the Guitar Hero series of games developed by Neversoft and published by Activision. For the game's release on Xbox 360, the game recieved a free piece of downloadable content that allowed players to play the Halo Theme MJOLNIR Mix from the Halo 2: Original Soundtrack. The MJOLNIR Mix was only available for players on Xbox 360, and could not be acquired for original Xbox or Playstation players. Instead, Playstation 3 players were able to download an exclusive track from the God of War soundtrack.

Halo Theme MJOLNIR Mix[edit]

The Halo Theme MJOLNIR Mix was released to download for free on the Xbox LIVE marketplace for Xbox 360 on November 22, 2007.[1] The DLC had a total file size of 27.82mb[2] It was available up until the shutdown of Xbox 360 marketplace services on July 29, 2024; as such it is no longer available to download.[3] The track was also released in a demo disc included in the April 2008 issue of the Official Xbox Magazine (Issue #82); this disc can still be used to manually install the DLC on an Xbox 360 console even after the shutdown of online services.[4]

The Halo Theme MJOLNIR Mix allows players to play the lead guitar line of the track in Guitar Hero III. It does not include a rythym or bass guitar line, meaning it can not be played in co-operative play.
