Announcement and marketing[edit]

The Brawlhalla: Combat Evolved Crossover Reveal Trailer.
The crossover, also known as "Brawlhalla: Combat Evolved", was first revealed at Ubisoft Forward 2023 on June 12, 2023 with a trailer, the trailer began looking normal with Ubisoft characters facing off against Lord Vraxx, then followed was Master Chief and Arbiter saving the day as footage of them in-game was shown then a release date of July 12, 2023.

In-game information[edit]

The Halo crossover was initially included in Patch 7.10 of Brawlhalla on July 12, 2023. Included was new spash art and UI theme, two crossover characters (Master Chief and Arbiter) with custom signature FX, a new map and game mode, and several cosmetic items for various characters.[2] As part of Patch 10.04 on March 18, 2026 the Halo crossovers were discontinued, with the map and game mode removed.[3]

UI and music[edit]

The Brawlhalla UI got a "Halo" facelift during the initial release between July 12, 2023, and August 2, 2023, with it making a small comeback during the "Halo" crossovers last chance in 2026. The background was the "Halo" map background that released on the same day. Several icons tied to Halo were included in the UI, such as the Halo "O" being next to "Play", the featured game mode (Brawl of the week) having a United Nations Space Command logo next to it, and the Store having the Credit icon next to it. The menu also had Brawlhalla versions of several Halo songs, one for the main menu, one for when you are picking a character, and one for after you finish a match.

"Halo" map[edit]

"Halo" was the map added as part of the crossover, it was set on a beach on a Halo ring. The background featured a strong focus on Halo Infinites version of a Halo ring such as the games signature hexagonal pillars and style of beacon tower that occasionally fired; with the planet in the background resembling how Threshold looked in Halo: Combat Evolved. Included in the background was a crashed AV-49 Wasp that emitted smoke. The map itself was a large Forerunner themed platform with grass on it, with four hexagonal platforms above it.

Oddbrawl gamemode[edit]

Oddbrawl was a gamemode added inspired by the Halo gametype Oddball, where a player would gain points by holding onto a flaming skull. The skull would grant players extra points for each hit they landed with it.[2]
