Master Chief Mash-up

The Master Chief Mash-up, previously known as the Halo Mash-up, is a Halo-themed Minecraft Mash-up pack created by 4J Studios, with the help of Microsoft Studios, 343 Industries and Mojang. The Mash-up pack first released on Xbox 360 on May 28, 2014 for US$3.99, as dlc for the Xbox 360 Edition of Minecraft,[1] with updates to it often coinciding with major Halo releases.[2] The Mash-up pack contained three Halo-themed elements; skins, a world, and a texture set.[1]
On Xbox One the Mash-up released alongside the Xbox One Edition,[3] with it releasing on other platform-specific editions including the Nintendo Switch and Wii U at a later date.[4] When Bedrock Edition was released on September 20, 2017 the Mash-up was also brought into it, with it being usable on most platforms the edition was playable on.[5] Support for this edition's Mash-up pack continued after major support ended for console editions.[2]

Overview[edit]
The Master Chief Mash-up pack is downloadable content for console and Bedrock Editions of Minecraft. It featured 50+ (40+ on Console Edition) skins, a texture set, themed user interface, and 31 music tracks from across the franchise when the texture pack is activated.[10][11]

Releases and support[edit]
Console Edition[edit]
The Xbox 360 Edition of the Mash-up released on May 28, 2014 during its Title Update 16.[6] The Xbox One Edition of the Mash-up released the same day the edition released on Content Update 1.[3] The Wii U and Nintendo Switch Editions of the Mash-up released on March 27, 2018 on the Patch 32 and 1.0.13 updates respectively.[4] Support for the Xbox One and Nintendo Switch Editions ended at the World of Color Update, while the Wii U and Xbox 360 Editions ended at the Update Aquatic, meaning the relevant Mash-up packs will have content up to the relevant updates.[12]
Xbox One Edition Holiday/Favourites Pack[edit]
To celebrate the Christmas holiday, the Minecraft: Xbox One Edition Holiday Pack (or Minecraft: Xbox One Edition Favorites Pack in European regions) was released for the Xbox One Edition on November 24, 2015. Costing US$29.99 this was bundled with seven "fan-favorite" DLCs.[13][14] A physical version of this bundle called "Minecraft: Xbox One Edition Includes Favourites Pack" was released on June 7, 2016 in Australia and New Zealand, and on June 22, 2016 in other regions. Included in this was the then-named Halo Mash-Up pack.[15] If someone plays the physical release without updating the game, they will be playing the game as was during the CU22 update, so the Mash-Up pack wont include the features/changes after this.
Bedrock Edition[edit]
When Minecraft: Bedrock Edition released on September 20, 2017, it brought the Mash-up pack with it as part of the Better Together Update,[5] with support for the pack being continued after major support ended for console editions.[2]
Major updates[edit]
While the Mash-up pack has been consistently updated throughout the years to keep the Halo theming on new things added to Minecraft; there have been a few updates specifically done to improve the Mash-up. Below covers the updates as they released.
Halo 5: Guardians update[edit]
