"Personalized by the Prophet of Regret's majordomo. Improved Beam Rifle with enhanced hipfire accuracy, faster heat dissipation, and a higher rate of fire."
— In-game description[4]

Sword of the Faithful is a Zubo-pattern beam rifle that was modified by the Prophet of Regret's majordomo.[4]

Overview

Design details

Sword of the Faithful is a named variant of the Zubo-pattern beam rifle, modified to fire more rapidly and for a longer duration before overheating. Additionally, it boasts greater hipfire accuracy than the standard model. It bears an identical nanolaminate carapace to the standard Zubo-pattern beam rifle but with a a deeper purple color decorated with white stripes.[5]

Service history

Sword of the Faithful was modified to its current state by the Prophet of Regret's majordomo at some point during the original Covenant.[4]

In late 2558, Sword of the Faithful was integrated into the UNSC Infinity's War Games simulations, where Spartan-IVs trained with the weapon.[5]

Gameplay

Halo 5: Guardians

Sword of the Faithful is an Ultra-Rare Level 6 energy REQ worth REQ Points 100 when sold. It can fire three shots immediately after another before overheating (unlike the standard Beam Rifle which can fire only two), and the time between these shots is slightly less. Additionally, the increased battery capacity allows for 15 shots rather than 10. Each individual shot is slightly less powerful, but like the standard Beam Rifle it still takes only two shots (or one headshot) to kill a full shield, full health Spartan.

The weapon has 100 battery units (15 shots) which can be operated at 180 rounds per minute. The weapon has a unscopped range of 38.09 m(125.0 ft), 133.35 m (437.5 ft) scoped at 4x, and 361.93 m (1187.5 ft) scoped at 10x.[6]

Changes from the standard Beam Rifle

  • Fires 180 rpm instead of 140 (or 1 trigger pull / 0.33 seconds vs 1 trigger pull / 0.44 seconds for the normal Beam Rifle).
  • Holds 15 shots instead of 10.
  • Deals less health damage.
  • Increased hipfire accuracy.
