The Roadkill (or Splatter in Halo 3) Medal is awarded and achieved for hitting and killing an opponent with any kind of vehicle. It is available in all Multiplayer gametypes where a vehicle is available and has a Bungie difficulty rating of 1 out of 10. It is represented by:

  • Halo 2: A five-pointed star with a tire.
  • Halo 3: A cross with a yellow street sign, showing a person split in half at the waist.

After you hit and kill an opponent with a vehicle, a message will appear on your screen that says: "You splattered (player)". This is also a medal in Halo 3 campaign. It is also possible to splatter someone by launching an object at them with a explosive, or using a Gravity Hammer to perform said task. You can also splatter someone by launching a large object by using a man cannon. It is also possible to splatter yourself.

If you are playing Halo 3, it is considerably easier to get this medal with the Ghost than any other vehicle, because of its speed and maneuverability. However, it can be avoided by being easily jumped over. The Halo 3 medal also resembles the "Bob-B-Q" medal from Marathon: Durandal.
