An Operation is a planned military offensive conducted by a military force, generally against a specific enemy objective or group of objectives. Operations can be large scale battles or small, covert insertions. Operations receive unique code words to distinguish themselves from other actions without giving away sensitive information that could be intercepted by enemy forces.
Known UNSC Operations
- Operation: CHARLEMAGNE (2496)- The deployment of a company of SPARTAN-I operatives against Insurrectionists over Eridanus II.
- Operation: FIRST STRIKE (2552)- A small SPARTAN-II offensive against the Covenant battle station Unyielding Heirophant.
- Operation: GUARDIAN LANCE (2540)- The recovery of Covenant technology by the UNSC on Jericho VII
- Operation: HYPODERMIC (dates unknown)- A mysterious and secret ONI project that has been in progress since 2531.
- Operation: KALEIDOSCOPE (2502)- The assassination of rebel political leader, Jerald Mulkey Ander, on Harvest.
- Operation: PROMETHEUS (2537)- The attack on the Covenant shipyard K7-49 by SPARTAN-III Alpha Company.
