India Company, contingents of which have also at times been referred to as Fire Team India or Recon Team India, is a unit of the United Nations Space Command Marine Corps.
History
In early 2531, India Company was assigned to the UNSC Spirit of Fire, a refitted Phoenix-class support vessel attached to the UNSC Navy's Third Fleet. On February 4 of that year the ship arrived at Harvest in the Epsilon Indi system with intent to survey the situation on the planet and to aid the Template:UNSCship, a Marathon-class heavy cruiser that had been crippled in battle with the Covenant's Fleet of Glorious Interdiction. For over twenty-eight years the marines slept until on March 28, 2559, they were awakened with the rest of those aboard by a subroutine left behind by the former shipboard A.I., Serina. Just over a month later, Captain James Cutter authorized India Company to reinforce Sunray 1-1, an elite team of Orbital Drop Shock Troopers from Boomerang Company, during Operation: SPEARBREAKER.[3] On May 1, the marines fought the forces of the Banished and Forerunner sentinel constructs on Installation 00 during the operation. With help from Sunray 1-1, they were able to prevent the Mgalekgolo pair known as Colony from launching a Forerunner Despair-class fighter at the Spirit of Fire.[4]
