Fear the Pink Mist
Fear the Pink Mist is a Halo 3 Achievement represented by a red circle with a Needler and five hearts surrounding the weapon. It is awarded for killing 5 enemies with a Needler, in a ranked or free-for-all match or Campaign. The name of the achievement is a reference to the large pink explosion that occurs when Needler projectiles detonate on a target as well as the pink ray of Needler projectiles. This is one of the easiest achievements to get.
Acquirement
- This Achievement may be acquired easily in the campaign level Sierra 117. At the river area, it is easy to kill the Brutes and Grunts repeatedly with a Needler.
- Another good area to get this achievement is the Drone attack on The Storm. If you kill one of the Drones holding a Needler, you can quite easily shower the remaining Drones with the projectiles.
- Another level this achievement can easily be accomplished is on The Covenant, due to the many Needlers dropped by Grunts and Drones.
- On the level Halo, you may complete the achievement using Needlers obtained from Flood Combat Forms.
Trivia
- Sierra 117 and Crow's Nest are the levels this Achievement is most commonly achieved on along with the level The Storm. This is very easy to do on any level or difficulty, though.
- "Pink Mist" is also a phrase from the film Jarhead, in which it is used to describe the effects of a headshot on a sniper's target. The target's brains and blood would shoot out of the exit wound on their head, causing a pink/red mist to stay in to air for a few seconds.
- This is one of the first achievements the player is able to get via campaign.
- The part of the name 'Pink Mist' is the pink explosion after shooting so many needles
