- Around this year, a geological survey team on Sigma Octanus IV finds rocks with odd compositions. They later found out these rocks were introduced from meteor impacts roughly 60,000 years earlier and contained a Forerunner shard among them.[1]
- The Chiroptera-class stealth vessel is retired by the UNSC.[2]
- Admiral Michael Stanforth is appointed the head of Section Three of the Office of Naval Intelligence.[3]
- August 15th: Thomas Lasky is born in Tricode Village, Mare Erythraeum on Mars.[4][note 1]
