A section (UNSC symbol: •) is a kind of military organisational unit used by the United Nations Space Command Marine Corps. They typically consist of 8 Marines (or two fireteams) led by a Lance Corporal or Corporal, and are generally used for patrol and starship security. This is in contrast to a squad (••), which consists of 13 Marines led by a Sergeant, consists of three fireteams, and is typically used for most regular dropship combat operations.[1]
The Marine Corps also makes use of vehicle sections, with two to four such vehicle sections comprising a vehicle platoon.[1]
