During the Fall of Reach, the order of battle for operations in the Viery Territory on Reach from August 12th, 2552, comprised many units from the UNSC Army and Marine Corps. Air support was provided by Navy warships and A/X craft, while airlift came from the Air Force. Over the course of the battle, two Army divisions, a Marine division, and three ODST battalions would both defend against and counterattack the Fleet of Valiant Prudence in Viery. Elements of this joint force participated in the Battle at Szurdok Ridge, where they attempted to prevent the Covenant from gaining a foothold on Reach.[1]
Based on the organizational structure of the units involved, over 83,580 soldiers, 37,800 Marines, and 3,600 ODSTs were deployed to the theater.[Note 1]
