Template:Vehicle Infobox The M868 Tropic Warthog[1] is a variant of the M12 Warthog that is outfitted for operations in jungle terrain.[1]
Description
Unlike its standard variant, the M868 is a hostile-environment variant for operations in a tropical environment.[2] Most notable changes are a further ruggedized suspension and double application of anti-corrosion coatings.[1] The M868 mounts an M41 Vulcan chaingun.
Production notes
The M868 model was originally developed for inclusion in Halo 2, alongside the M862 Arctic Warthog and M914 Recovery Warthog variants. These models were cut from the game's development, however, with a screenshot of them (shown below) released on Bungie.net. The M868 Warthog was later given canon status in the Halo Encyclopedia[2] and later Halo Waypoint Warthog article.[1]
