A file is the smallest infantry unit within the Covenant military. A lance is the unit above a file.
Overview
The group usually consists of around four to five Unggoy[1] or Kig-Yar.[2] A file is usually led by a Sangheili Minor, or a Jiralhanae Minor with an Ultra Unggoy assisting. A file is the Covenant equivalent to a UNSC Fireteam.
