The UNSC Ordnance Commission[1], also referred to as the UNSC Ordnance Committee, or the Ordnance Commission, is a branch of the UNSC High Command.[2]

Ordnance Commission 2536

The Hayabusa Powered Assault Armor was presented to the commission in 2536 by RKD, a think tank on Earth.

Ordnance Commission 2553

This Ordnance Commission held at the Damascus Materials Testing Facility on Chi Ceti IV that took place May 2553.[3]

This commission event was headed by the major armor defense companies and sponsored by the Office of Naval Intelligence. Shortly after the Human-Covenant War, the Commission validated the need for specialized, defense-centric armor variants. These would be used for the protection of civilian populations rather than the assault on enemy strongholds. In response, Imbrium Machine Complex developed the MJOLNIR/Defender variant, which followed the various strictures of the Commission's rulings but remained an effective combat system.[3] Due to the armor's proven performance, the Commission made an exception for the Mark VI GEN1.[3] The Commission also approved the exploration by Hannibal Weapon Systems for a Rogue GEN2 variant.[3] Due to the cost of the Oceanic variant, its operation requires level-four Ordnance Commission approval.[3] As a result of the Commission, Imbrium Machine Complex took control of oversight and production of the Recon variant, refining and improving the existing architecture for SPARTAN-IV use.[3]

Ordnance Commission 2557

The Ruptive skins for the M395 DMR, MA5D assault rifle, BR85 battle rifle, M20 SMG, and M6H2 magnum was approved by the commission in 2557.
