The Covenant Bomb was a type of large tactical ordnance. They were the counterpart to the UNSC's tactical Nuclear weapons.

Bombs were used during the Battle of Earth to assault Orbital Defense Platforms. Boarding parties delivered the ordnance and destroyed Athens Station and Malta Station. The device on Cairo Station was secured by John-117 and Cortana. The Spartan performed a micro-gravity maneuver to deliver the device to a Covenant Assault Carrier. The enemy warship was destroyed.[1]

Trivia

  • Jason Jones of Bungie referred to the bomb as the "Giant Covenant Space Pickle".
  • When the bomb is reactivated by John-117 it takes 7 seconds to explode.
  • It appears in Halo Zero, a fan-made 2D Halo game made for the PC.
  • The bomb only appears in Halo 2.
  • it is possible that it uses Antimatter and is the Antimatter Charge Cortana refers to.
