Captain Stocken is an officer of the Office of Naval Intelligence Section Three and a xeno-technology scientist.[1][2]
Biography[edit]
In 2526, Stocken was assigned to the UNSC Phyllis Wheatley for its salvage mission on Netherop of the Covenant frigate Steadfast Strike. She was amongst the crewmembers to evacuate when Nizat 'Kvarosee's forces attacked.[1]
During the Covenant attack on the Wheatley survivors, Stocken took cover in a belly scrape while Tam 'Lakosee and four other Sangheili attacked her[1] and Stocken held her own against Tam in hand-to-hand combat until help arrived.[2] Linda-058 found two of the ship's engineers defending an injured Stocken and killed the other four Sangheili and Tam and the remaining Covenant forces fled, apparently in response to the arrival of the Castoffs in mountain runners. Stocken recovered an emergency locator beacon that Tam had secretly dropped containing a Luminal Beacon and ordered Linda to take her to the corpse of Gri 'Waqilsee who possessed a heavy personal shield projected by an external generator which secretly hid the second Luminal Beacon.[1]
When the rest of Blue Team arrived, Stocken told John-117 that they had to take 'Waqilsee's body without removing his armor and shield generator due to the dangers of rendering the shield technology inoperative by removing it. John ordered Kelly-087 to help Stocken with transporting the 'Waqilsee and saw Kelly pretending to listen as Stocken lectured her on the intricacies of moving a scientific specimen.[2] During the evacuation, Stocken told John that with the technology in the shield generator, ONI finally had a chance to turn the war around. John realized that Lieutenant Commander Amalea Petrov and some of her crew hadn't made it to the extraction, but Stocken couldn't explain it as she was in the first of the mountain runners.[3]
